I have been using LightRoom for months and have always converted my Nikon NEF files to DNG when I import them. No problems. On this last trip I didn't want to do that (I don't really trust DNG files). So I imported NEF files without converting them. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I can no longer start LightRoom. It just freezes on me, uses 50% of the CPU and goes into a "Not Responding" state. I've upgraded from 1.3 to 1.3.1, I've re-installed using the "repair" option. Nothing helps. Lightroom on my laptop is stone deaf (not dead, it's using 50% of my resources, but it is not responding). (Yes, I've rebooted too). I'm looking at LightZone now: http://www.lightcrafts.com It doesn't look like Lightroom went through an Alpha or Beta phase. Adobe probably just dumped it on the market out of greed. Daniel
