I vouchsafe to say that over 90 percent of new Leica gear are NOT members of the LUG. They are not interested in "street photography" . they use their Leicas to take pictures of their Bentleys or Lamborghinis. They would never consider buying a second hand camera or lens. They shoot pics of their Eclipse Minijets( they are not yet in the Gulfstream 5 class.) They do not take travel pictures, but some of them are birdists with their R9s and loooong teles mit extenders. I am talking about the Leica owners I have met in my town, La Jolla. They buy Leica stuff new just to have it, not to help a struggling company. Their used gear only hits the market when their estate sells it all. You would be astounded at the estate sale prices I have paid for mint gear. Your countries Leica people may be different, but I doubt it. Jerry Ric Carter wrote: > I buy used by necessity. > > My used buying usually helps fuel new buying.
