It's just silly. In most cases Leica has been unable to keep up with demand when new items have become available. And as previously stated, I've purchased a new Leica body and Lens. I've also purchased a couple Leica bodies and lenses, as demos, from licensed dealers; which is pretty darn close to new. They never left the store - until I walked out with them. Also: I not only buy Leica used, I also bought all of my Hasselblad, Linhof, Deardorf, Schneider, Rodenstock, Durst, and etc. gear used. How will those companies survive?
