It would be relatively easy to have someone ( Minolta last time) take a
digital Nikon F and convert it to a Leica mount.  Or do it with a 4:3
camers..... THEN they could offer a Digital SLR.  And make money from the
optics.  But t he camera bodies, M or R,  will never make them enough to
keep them afloat.

Nathan said it again... Make Leica lenses in mounts for Canon and Nikon and
whatever else...  Then you make some serious money.
