But actually I've known some patients have to go to surgery quite quickly and do very well. Most important thing is to recognise warning signs of spinal cord compression (your specialist will have told you). Everyone I talked to (including my neurosurgeon) says conservative therapy is the rule. "Hold off from surgery - it will get better. Surgery is an absolute last resort." Experiences?
