A generous wife buys her husband a Leica camera for his birthday. Soon after he buys another which prompts a query from his wife: "why do you need two cameras?" He pointed out one was for B&W and one for colour. Some years later while his wife was out the man pulled out his whole collection of cameras only to be surprised by his wife's return. A little shocked she asked: "just how many cameras do you have?" "Well my dear, it appears I have 72." "Why do you need 72 cameras?" she asked incredulously. "I have 36 for B&W and 36 for colour!" My list is not as long as yours Felix, but it is long enough. Each has its own character and charms and each leads to a different experience when in use. I think my wife is happier for me to flirt with these toys than other women! Anyway the whole collection costs a good deal less than the most modest of sports cars. There is a tongue-in-cheek advert for the Hasselblad H3D in the latest British Journal of Photography (BJP) featuring the latest Bugati, which has a price tag over a million dollars; in comparison the Hasselblad costs peanuts!
