Hi Ira,

Indeed, more or less the old circus was like these ones on our memory, is
nostalgia, but at the same time a days of a certain misery, maybe on the
origins of "La Comedia dell'arte"

Your circus pictures brought back memories of a traveling circus (Circus  
Vargas) that used to come through Southern California every year.    Most of
the 
animals were given to local zoos when the circus closed for the last  time,
and just last month the elephant, now quite elderly, was sent to a  preserve
in Northern California to live out its life outside of a cage.
