Daniel,

I don't move quickly and stay still awhile between steps. The one  
time I moved quickly they ran away and one of them flapped his wings.  
I was lucky to catch it on film (digital that is). These particular  
birds also seem to be used to seeing people on the preserve. They  
seem to have made it their home even though there are no fences to  
keep them in. I have seen up to 12 at a time here but today only saw  
four.
