Tom,
It seems to do that almost automatically. Before I got
Lightroom, the computer downloaded dngs into the iPhoto library, then
iPhoto shipped an upgrade and the computer decided it did not want
dngs and would not import them. iPhoto still does not import dngs,
but says that it did not import files. I just close iPhoto and open
Lightroom and import the files there. I like to have the jpegs in
iPhoto library, if for no other reason, my wife can see them without
bothering with Lightroom or PS.
