Subject: [Leica] Help with unusual Visoflex model

Folks, after a protracted period in that on-line auction site, I've finally
managed to assemble a visoflex outfit that fits on my
M7. I think this is an uncommon model, the Visoflex V. It seems to be
designed for stereo images.

Can anyone with the Visoflex III please tell me if it is normal for the
tripod mounting hole to create an opening into the body of
the unit? My example has the hole for the thread open completely as though
stray light would spill in there if the unit was not
tripod mounted.

Cheers

Hoppy
