Hi Mark,
strange! UK sizes have the same number as US sizes but are different
sizes (Women's clothes too).
A UK 8 1/2 (my size) is the same as a US 9 1/2. I often buy shoes in
the US and the first pair I tried - before I learned this - were very
tight.

When buying for my wife/daughters who are very slim I have to be
careful too, size 8 UK is the same as size 6 USA.

Frank

Beats me why this is, a US gallon is different to an Imperial gallon
too, but that was apparently due to trader ripoffs during the
colonial era.
