It is not the failure rate, it is the customer service when there is a 
problem that is the issue to me.

If yo get a tracking number, the data does not get updated in anywhere near 
real time ( I received a package BEFORE they
qacknowledged thay had it from the shipper)

When you need to make a claim, they ask you to wait a month, after you pay 
for overnight mail service.....

Etc.

Just plain bad customer service....

Yes, I use them for shipping overseas, in which case they have yet to give 
me a problem.....

PS.. Sounds like either a statistician or a current/former USPS employee....

Not to blame USPS at all. With the volume of packages we send within and 
outside of US, the failure rate is very low.
