Daniel,
If it matters, my dad's hip replacement is going on thirty years with no
issues other than he is 88 this May.  If she can't get out and about, then
risk a second at eighty something.  You won't make it to eighty if you can't
walk about anyway.  Good luck with convincing a sturdy norsewoman to avoid
the pain.

In some ways never a well behaved boy.
