Concerning Bruckner, Gunter Wand is a great specialist, but I would like to recomend you to listen too Hans Knappertsbusch, the 8th Symphony by Kna is great. For Mahler I don't have any recording from Chailly, IMO they are great recordings with Sinopoli, Szell, Barbirolli, Abbado, and Rattle..., well I tell you my preferred I have at home.., and don't miss the "Knaben Wunderhorn" with Fischer-Dieskau and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, George Szell conducting...is magical! CD I can't tolerate any Winterreise not sung by Fischer-Dieskau. And Carmina Burana pretty much as to be by Slatkin. I'm trying to learn to like Bruckner, and am searching for the best renderings of those symphonies. I think Wand might be the place to go. And, against the critics, I like Chailly's Mahler the very best. CD I'm of the camp that thinks Kleiber's best recording is the Brahm's 4th symphony. After hearing it a few times, I just cannot hack the others. The Beethoven 7 is exceptional if you can find it. I am glad I invested in a Keith Monks record cleaning machine way back, though in today's USD it was probably the cost of an M8.
