With the sulfite in there like that the results are not that much different
or better than d76 1:1.
But without the sulfite you'll have much higher acutance (than D76 1:1) and
it will look more like Hc110 solution B or other low to no sulfite higher
acutance developers.
Not quite Rodinal. But close.
You really do loose the sharpness with the sulfite.
You take the edge off the grain but that to me doesn't make it less
noticeable. It just makes it more objectionable as sharp regular grain is
really been the "style" now for a while..
You round off the grain with solvent (the sulfite) and loose the sharpness
of the image itself.
Turns your Summicrons into Tamrons.
Your Sumiluxes into Tokinas.
Your Elmars into Soligars.
The grain quality you get with Tri x and fg7 (no sulfite) is quite regular
defined and good. Like you want it. Its one of the better developers. Like
Rodinal 1:75 And about as convenient as a liquid. Just not quite as
concentrated.
