I have no idea, but blurb.com did mention that it's one of their all-time
bestsellers. Of course, all time is the ten months they've been around...

Blurb.com uses printing "partners" around the country--most likely, places
that have the special high-speed digital print and bindery equipment
necessary for the project. They send the work to the print partner nearest
the recipient. One book, many printers.

Jim,

Can you tell us how many books have been ordered so far? I just got mine
and it is prompting me to do a book of my own images. I
notice that mine was printed (or at lease was mailed from) Seattle, WA.
Thanks again!

To address this issue:
Try blurb.com yourselves! The software is a FREE download, and works on
both Mac and PC. It is really, really simple. Play with
it for about an hour, and you'll see how simple it is to assemble a
professional-looking book.

I'd love to take credit for superior artistic skills, but really can't. For
about 95% of the book I used exactly TWO templates.
The left-hand page template allowed the use of the full page for images, and
the right-hand page included a text box for up to two
lines of information.

I chose these two for simplicity's sake. As LUGgers sent images, I "dumped"
them into the templates, and edited the descriptions. Nothing was cropped
without permission. Those LUGgers who sent only one image
had the right-hand page blank, except for text. Total time for each spread
was about five minutes, including text editing time. I
think I spent more time transferring images to the blurb.com images file
than I did in placement <g>.

Since this was "place as you go", by the time the last images arrived the
book was completed, ready for uploading.

My only "taste" was deciding which image would work best on the left-hand
page, and which belonged on the right!

Best,

Absolutely true. I didn't say it clearly, but meant that "anyone"
with something to say and the intelligence to say it, who also has access to
computer can get it done, get in print, and make it
available.
