George,
I agree wholeheartedly, my even older 300D (D-Rebel) and my more recent 
20D are still working perfectly and deliver just what I want with a very 
wide range of lenses, Leica, Zeiss, Rollei, Pentax - and even Canon 
:-)    - the only thing that could make me upgrade to the successor of 
the 5D (whatever it may be called when it comes out) is anti-shake and 
automatic sensor cleaning (we live much too close to a cement works).
