You might want to consider the several choices of C41  BW films if you  
choose to scan your own.  Digital Ice (dust and scratch remover) sees the  
silver 
in Tri X as dirt, and tries to get rid of it.   If you scan  with Digi Ice 
turne
d off, you'll probably be spotting a good bit.
