Gene, it's understandable that parts are harder to come by. However, I think 
that the prime consideration is labour costs. At least
here in Australia, the cameras and the manual focus lenses sell for around 
one third (on the Bay) of the cost of a CLA for either.

Well, when I did my search 8 years ago there was no one who would even touch 
one.  All to a man told me good luck and no thanks.
Nikon would not even take a look at it, even for a CLA.
