Subject: [Leica] IMG: Send in the Clowns and Miss America

For the last ten years I volunteered to photograph the Peabody Opera
productions. I have attended the rehearsals from the very beginning,
when the singers are still "on book' and would get to know the
blocking really well. That way I could anticipate the action and know
the better places to be. Because they trust me I was given virtual
freedom during the dress rehearsals. Some of the photographs up were
taken during the final performance. I really love opera and it was
always a pleasure to hear the operas many times. My favorites are the
Mozart operas. After every opera I'd give all the members of the cast
a CD on which were all of the pictures. So it was really a trade. I
feel I got the better part of it, getting to hear wonderful singers,
close up, perform works that I love.

You have an eye for this kind of photography, Jesse. Are you at these
venues as a spectator, or can you get behind the screens to make some
shots? Pretty interesting POV's and situations there...
