Probably because I'm not using a mail prog, but webmail (Yahoo!), alas, 
Brian - I don't use my "real" email address for mailing lists due to 
previous issues with spam. Last night it would've been IE7, I think - so no 
surprise there...

No, there is no space in Alastair's folder name.
The space is put there by Alastair's mail sending program, breaking what it 
sees as a long line into two shorter pieces.

I'm intrigued that Nick Roberts' mail program can't read the broken lines 
even when the URLs are surrounded by <...>. That is as 
non-standards-compliant as breaking the lines in the first place.
