Thanks, good suggestion, but sadly not the problem: the whole programme
has just vanished from the folder: other evidence of its "previous"
exhistance remains (ie folders of preferences etc) but no programme.

These computers are strange things and do seem to make their own decisions
sometimes. I was hoping to be able to download the programme without
reinstalling the system: perhaps I could try dragging it off my laptop.
