Subject: [Leica] M8 and the Future

I think that the difference is that a M series in the past was good for 
50 years, and so a premium upfront payment was fine. With digital, it is 
not so, and a premium upfront paynment for 5 years of use might not be 
worth it, unless you are a professional. I hardly see any pro buying it, 
though. I think the film cameras will keep selling because of the cachet 
of the name, and the willingness of collectors to keep boxed bodies in 
mint condition lying around. Users have always bought second hand....
