Subject: [Leica] B&W only version of M8 - anyone else hear this?

I assume that the B&W mode currently offered in some digital cameras simply
does the color -> black and white conversion in the camera for you. Not a
formidable feat.

The rumor is that the camera will provide RAW files, but without the
color. Instead, the extra "sensor real estate" will allegedly be used to
provide more megapixels or great dynamic range. So for someone who truly
never ever shoots color, this may be the digital M they want.

It is NOT the same as the silly B&W mode provided by some cameras.
