I thought Leica would bugger it up, to be honest - change the whole look, feel, ethos and character of the camera, but they appear not to have. I want one, and I didn't think I would - strikes me that it takes M usability on a step or two with the positives of digital (easily-changed ISO, colour and B&W in the same camera) and would be more suited to me than my film Ms or just about any digital SLR - and it's almost cheap for what it is, after all. (Spot somebody trying to rationalise the purchase of something he can't really afford, and cursing Ted for his provocative advice! :) ) Nick ----- Original Message ---- From: John Collier <jbcollier@shaw.ca> To: Leica Users Group <lug@leica-users.org> Sent: Monday, 18 September, 2006 3:21:31 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] Slow M8 burst mode? I hope not myself. Anything beyond 2 or 3 frames per second is not necessary in a basic rangefinder. Leica would be making a big mistake if it tried to cast the M8 as a camera for every situation. The Ms best feature is its lack of features. There is nothing to get in the way. There are other cameras out there with enough features to render them almost unusable. Please leave the M alone.
