Didier,
Gray market works because most manufacturers offer deals(possibly as much as
20% less plus you qualify for as coop dollars and sometimes free merchandise
typically bags, batteries, and interesting accessories like WiFi enablers)
 if you order X thousand dollars of merchandise at one time.  So, a smaller
dealer will order a huge quantity of goods, keep what makes sense for that
dealer and sell the rest into the gray market.  There are folks that will
always buy so that is an easy part.

The other way gray market works is a dealer gets into a cash flow problem
and sells off some new old stock.
