I'm not a hardware guy, but I *LOVE* data centers. I've spent
too many long nights in data centers, working standing up on those
carts with the monitor/mouse/keyboard, trying to get something
or other up and running again.

They're super duper impressive if you ever get to see one. Most
recently, a few years back, I worked with a client that used Qwest
out in Herndon, VA. *HUGE*. There are rows of backup generators
nearly long enough to have vanishing point. Fantastic security for
some govt. clients, with X feet of concrete on all sides. Multimillion
dollar backup tape farms whirring away and robotically swapping
tapes.

I shot my first high speed film at that data center with a Nikon
N80 and, IIRC, a 24/2.8 AFD lens. My scanning skills were
primitive, but if I can find some of the pics, I'll a post a few.

Scott

p.s. In praise of the lowly N80, I think it was one of the best
gear bargains I've seen. Combine it with Nikon's less expensive
24/2.8, 50/1.8 and 85/1.8 (all AFD) and it's a really handy and
economical kit that can deliver truly fantastic results. Ex g'friend
has it now - sigh :-)
