BD.... #1, glad you are back....
#2 YMMV..... I have lousy luck with USPS, but 100% with UPS.  Cost is 
nominally the same or less when you take into account
insurance

The pain of doing business with the USPS is so bad that I now have a 
surcharge for going to the USPS to ship a box.  I do not do
this when using UPS.....UPS is at cost.....
