Another simple approach is to use a temp employment agency. Instead
of looking to the agency for employee prospects, I have always had
the person in mind that I need for a job or to help out for a few
months. My person just registers with the agency, I sign a time-slip
every week and get a bill in the mail. These days, especially in the
business mine-field called California, I would NEVER put myself in
the extreme liability position of being an employer, written contract
help or otherwise. It costs a couple extra dollars per hour through
an agency, but is well worth it.

You think it takes time and effort to be a good photographer? That's
nothing compared to what it takes to be a barely functional payroll
and human resources clerk!
