Changing the subject quite a bit, but hey, this is the LUG. Many years
ago now, I visited New Salem, IL which is a pretty accurate restoration of
1830's life in the midwest. At the time the sex education wars were playing
out in our schools and airwaves. Anyway, I was looking inside a fairly
typical 12X12 house with loft that served as the primary residence for a
family; parents downstairs and older children upstairs in the loft. My
thoughts at the time were, so we are worried that our children will learn
about sex and in this house you might have had four to ten children and they
had no clue, on a farm with horses, cows, chickens...

This really does relate to how we both know what is going on around us but
choose not to know.
