Scott,
Also bear in mind that the 4/3 system has some very nice Olympus lenses and
Sigma makes 4 lenses in the same mount.  A distinct advantage to the 4/3
concept is that if I have a better idea for a body I don't also have to come
up with a full line of lenses.  Likewise, a lens manufacturer does not also
have to make bodies.

For the same reason I keep a M42 body around as there are some quite
wonderful lenses out there in that mount, and for very little money.
