Greg,

I'm sorry. My message was not so very clear. I
should have made it clearer that I was referring
to the serial number of my 50mm f/2.8 Elmar-M.

English is not my first language and I rely on my
partner, who is British, to turn my draft LUG
postings into better English than I can write
myself. I think something got lost in
translation.

Anyway I thank you for your interest and
apologise for raising false hopes. <g>

Colin

(P.S. "Lost in Translation" is also a very
thoughtful movie, with Bill Pullman and Scarlett
Johansson, who plays the wife of an overworked
photographer on assignment to Japan. Highly
recommended!)
