Lee,
I purchased my first Leica by shooting stage productions.  For a shot like
you posted, get a good spot meter, meter what you want and use that
setting.  Typically the light crew will have several "sets" and once you
have a reading on each one you just adjust as the crew does.

If you don't have a spot meter, mount the longest lens you have and use that
to get an exposure.
