Subject: [Leica] Japanese paper reports Canon to take over Leica

canon does not need leica for anything and i mean nothing. they make
better camera and lenses than leica already and financially there is
nothing leica puts on the table for canon. if this is true, leica
shareholders lucked out. they got some money!!

making a good lens these days has to do with the good design which
canon is very capable and use of good glass which is a matter of
economics and the price range for the lens. so what does leica put on
the table for canon which it does not have now; a name, film cameras,
manual focus lenses, oh the DMR......
