Actually, I did photograph my father in hospital after he had the stroke 
last year. He was just sleeping and looked so peaceful. It was about 2 
days before he died (without regaining consciousness). I knew at that 
point what the likely outcome was going to be. Taking the picture was 
necessary for me. I have not posted it anywhere and will not do so; in 
fact, I have never even shown it to my family. But it is part of the 
life we had together and I am glad that I have it. The public face of my

Taken about 3 weeks before he died, just before we went to Spain for a 
few days--a long-planned trip which I finally decided not to put off 
anymore, and so I just bought the tickets and informed him--and I am 
glad I did...
