Henning:

The whole point of a full frame is to take advantage of the wide
angles. If the full frame does not perform with Canon's wide angles,
or even Leica's best wide angles, what is the point of the full
frame? If the lenses are not the problem, it is the full frame
sensor technology. Edge distortion and smearing did not seem to be a
problem with the 1D MkII sensor with the Leica wides.

Most people's money would be better spent on a 20D or the 1D MkII,
which can be had for not a lot more than the 5D. If they have a
stable of R lenses and a R8 or R9, it is probably better to use the
DMR or wait for a more affordable digital R.

Regards,

Robert
