The problem with the Fuji S series in the past is they were based on cheap Nikon consumer cameras that were not that great in AF nor that durable. I have an older friend heavily into Nikon, but he shoots a lot of wide shots and the 1.5 crop is limiting with his current lenses. He is also a bit hard on his cameras. If the S3 is based on one of the Nikon pro-level bodies it might be just the camera for him. He would have to get one of the really wide angle zooms to use with it though.
