Wherever it goes, it is an conciliation that makes everyone on the LUG feel just a tad better. :-) Jeffery Smith New Orleans, LA http://www.400tx.com -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+jls=runbox.com@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+jls=runbox.com@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Ted Grant Sent: Sunday, August 07, 2005 5:42 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] kids... THIS IS AN OPEN APOLOGY! ! A couple of weeks ago Eric offered his opinion on a Steve Barbour photo... You may recall Steve's granddaughter emerging from the swimming pool. Subject: Re: [Leica] kids... ! Eric's opinion: >The only thing I'd change would be to reflect some light into her face >to lessen the shadows under her eyes and separate her pupils a bit from >her irises.<<< Well the sabre tooth tiger came back with, :-( > Eric, > For crying out loud get real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > Sorry I have to de-lurk on this one and I'll pay for it both here at > home > and on the screen, although on the screen the chances are limited I'll see > any Reponses!<<< No excuses on my part. It was a bad mouth attack on an unsuspecting photographer simply because of his opinion. And not satisfied with the first outburst I went on... > But damn it, this is the stupidest comment on a picture of a child > that > happens in split-seconds and your telling the photographer he should ... Eric's comment, A simple opinion offered below: >reflect some light into her face to lessen the shadows under her eyes >and >separate her pupils a bit from her irises.<<< Unfortunately I contunue the attack: > I'm sorry that's bull shit when it's an instant of happening and the > great > reaction of a fine photographer who grabs the instant moment. Hell if you > were shooting under identical conditions and you'd shot this, you'd have > been only too glad you had a photograph as good as this.<<< And I continued: > OK if you are messing around on a "studio shoot" and have exactly > every > bit of control I might agree with your comments. But let's get real and > realize this is a split second life moment and a grab shot! > > But surely under the circumstance of a quick instant moment and you're > suggesting correcting light? Get real, life isn't like that in > uncontrolled life moments! > > Your comment is bloody nonsense under the circumstances, although well > meaning!!<<<<<<<<< Well ladies and gentlemen you can see I was absolutely mouth out of control on a LUG family member simply for his opinion. Quite frankly I still have the post and have read it several times feeling bloody embarassed and absolutely foolish each time I did. I looked to offer this apology since I first posted it realizing how bad I sounded in offending a screen friend.. Today was the day, So with this Eric I offer my humblest of apologies for such a callous and loud mouthed out burst. And to the LUG family for such bad manners. ted _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
