OK, I re-souped the roll to see if I can remove the spidery gunk, but as 
Brian guessed, it didn't work :-( However, I did adjust some settings on 
the scanner program (I use Vuescan to scan B&W neg and NikonScan for color 
slides) and it came out better, I think. Look here, the highlight does not 
seem to get blown as much:

The office is STILL messy :-)

R.I.P. little bunny boy. Those are the last set of pictures we have of him
