Once again so many posts illustrate the wonderful family we have here of helpful folks. :-) OK crew, thank you all for explaining the foibles of shooting only JPEG and not RAW. JPEG seemed to be so simple straight forward & fast in producing beautiful exposures & prints at any size. My feelings were "why add another step to the routine by shooting RAW?" I suppose this was compounded by "negative comments" about all the extra processing required in shooting RAW." Obviously this isn't the case, certainly if I understand RAW is the "positive-negative" from which you make your JPEG or TIFF prints? Dang I hope I got that right. You all have been very patient and helpful with me explaining the procedure and why to shoot RAW as it appears from all reports I'm like the only soldier out of step in the parade. ;-) With so many helping hands, it's obvious my time to learn one more step has come. Therefore it's back to "look in the manual" and read how to set for RAW and begin to shoot away. And yes I'll learn it's still a simple KISS procedure as experience begins to settle in. :-) To all a great big thanks once again for looking after the old guy in explaining these new fangled ways of photography. :-) ted
