I have used it since 1998 for the occasional sale of something that the LUG was not interested in or the occasional purchase (about 20 transactions), and have never had a problem. You look at the other party's feedback and act accordingly. I think ebay is in fact a good guide to prices for things like used M6s. It can even be used for serious business purposes--when I was working at Swiss Re in 2000-2002, ebay was the best source for pricing information on used Cisco routers and other such gear. This was when all the dot.coms were going bust and the liquidators were often using ebay to dispose of the equipment. I know that there is a certain amount of disdain for ebay on this list, but I think it is a great company that provides a great service, and is one of the few pure internet companies that has survived and thrived--because it came up with a business model that works.
