The only argument I can think of in favor of the new chron is that it focuses down to about 27 inches. But I'd rather have 1.4. And that 75 Summilux is a really gorgeous lens. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Keith V Johnson Sent: Saturday, March 19, 2005 4:08 PM To: lug@leica-users.org Subject: [Leica] 75mm F/2 M lens? Anyone have any info on this rumoured lens? I've been doing some portraiture with a 50 and a 90. I seem to do better with a 50, which makes me wonder what I'm going to do with the 90. Still, I favour a slightly longer lens. My thoughts keep leading me to believing in the 75 lux. But if a 75 'cron was in the works (hopefully less money) I'd be very interested. And as a second notion. Even though I've not yet been able to make an acceptable print (bw) from my epson, I keep at it. I'm thinking about the new 1280 and a lyson bw ink set up. If anyone has thoughts or experience I'd love to hear about it. My problems so far are all the ones we've all read about. Most lately metamarism. And then there's the whole longevity issue. I have "archival" paper from Luminos that has yellowed worse than any RC Ilford I have lying around here. I scan my trix into rgb 48 bit files. I resolve the color shift in channel mixer. I print using printer color mgmt only. I get really nice prints with a very cold tone that?s only visible outside or at my office. At home they look great. I don't have the ability or room to put a conventional darkroom back in here and I do like the ability to clean up the dust and occasional scratches in pshop. Maybe I'm asking too much. Maybe I need to know a lot more about all this inkjet business. Ha, Maybe. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
