There's another bit of Leica corporate insanity - In the day of the
internet, and easy international purchase, set different prices even
when accounting for currency conversion - talk about a way to undermine
dealers.

Approx. US$2,000 from my part of the world, US$2,500 from US dealers. I
guess the US$2,900 for some parts of Europe?

Germany, since late 1999. The product number changed from 11815 to
11810 as production moved to Germany. The German made lens is also a
touch lighter and focusing a touch smoother.

Cheers,

Joseph
