Approx. US$2,000 from my part of the world, US$2,500 from US dealers.  I
guess the US$2,900 for some parts of Europe?

Germany, since late 1999.  The product number changed from 11815 to 11810 as
production moved to Germany.  The German made lens is also a touch lighter
and focusing a touch smoother.
