[Leica] Shots in the Met

I think the reason it doesn't really work is that you can't see what's
in the kid's hand...I didn't know if it was a video game device, digital
camera, or what...Good idea, but the imagery wasn't quite there...

As to comments...I often feel the same frustration. My inclination is to
comment when I a., think a photo is particularly good, or interesting;
or b., when I think that the person really wants what I hope is
constructive criticism, as opposed to simply being told that the snaps
of little Kristy and 
Skipper remind me of the best work of HCB - which I really believe is
what most people want. ;-)

That's the picture you would have taken.  I posted the one I wanted 
to take. :-))

What we have here is a failure to communicate. :-))))

What I thought might be seen in this picture

was a young boy and an woman communicating only through their cell 
phones despite the fact that they are only a few feet away from one 
another, their backs to one another, and separated by a rather 
despairing cold bronze statue.  In words, I was trying to say 
something about strained communication.

Obviously, that didn't come across, so something's missing.  It must 
need something more to connect the two together, but damned if I know 
what it is at this point.

You're right about the notices.  Those photos were posted elsewhere
initially.

Thanks for the comments, in any case.   It's been frustrating of late 
to post photos here, get 60-100 hits on each within a few hours and 
get almost nothing back from the folks who looked.  I've taken refuge 
in the hit counters.  They at least give me some idea of where I've 
managed to catch an eye.

I understand the lack of reaction in one sense.  There are some 
photos here that are so damned good I don't know what to say, so I 
don't respond at all.  There are others that leave me so cold I don't 
know what to say either.

When people do respond, with even a sentence or two, it inevitably 
calls my attention to some element of a photo that I didn't know was 
there, for better or worse, that's a big help, and is appreciated.

Come to think of it, maybe this lack of response is what the picture 
is all about anyway.

P.S.  I'm told that putting periods at the end of URLs upsets some 
mailers.  I'll try to leave them off from now on.  Emoticons, no 
periods at the end of sentences - where will it all end?  ;-)
