Would you buy a car that incorporated a unique technology from a company circling the drain? Then why would anyone pay a minimum of $4K - the price before the dollar went south - for a digital back for a manual SLR from a company circling the drain? Rather than saving Leica at this point, the Digiback could well be the nail in its coffin - because with the company in the shape it's in, no one but the most cash saturated fanatic is going to take that kind of risk - particularly given Leica's not-too-terrific track record when it comes to electronics. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Bill Smith Sent: Friday, February 18, 2005 7:46 AM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Leica: DMR will come, but R&D pushed way back My two cents worth is Leica is kinda' like IBM was--led the world then almost dead due to arrogance/ failure to keep up w/ changing technology. I guess we'll see--it's too bad. That's all I could get. Didier _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
