Subject: [Leica] Screw Mount Lenses

My screw mount Elmar 50mm f3.5, marked f3.5 through f18 appears not to have 
a serial number; at least none is evident. Does this make it very old? I was 
sold the lens for use on an enlarger (for which it was well suited except 
for the difficulty of setting the f-stops) and it performs well on camera as 
well.
