I was hoping that the Leica design book would include more features, such as some off-the-wall body color choices like pink or purple, or even the green, hammer tone, or titanium that they previously offered. In addition, any bookbinder could tell Leica that calf is a lousy leather choice for something that will be handled a great deal and that goat would make a much better and durable body covering. I have to admit that even I could fall prey to a Darth Vader MP...all black, black body cover and no markings...but The Good Doctor Black Tape has already shown us how to achieve that look at minimal expense and trouble. I understand the prices shown on the on-line a la carte configurator are "list prices," subject to the usual discounts one normally negotiates with one's dealer. So count on paying somewhat less than what you read on the Leica website. How much less is up to you to work out with the dealer, like every other Leica purchase. I don't think Solms is expecting anybody to pay $1500 more for a doo-dadded up M camera.
