One of the most important things to remember if you are trying to keep a
monitor calibrated is to NOT turn it off. You would be amazed how long it
takes for a tube to properly warm up and the repeated stress if firing up the
tube, heat expansion/contraction causes them to drift out of calibration.
We just leave them running with a solid black screen saver that comes on
after a few minutes.
