At work our engineers calibrate workstation monitors about every 6
weeks. Important "god monitors" (reference monitor for a project) get
calibrated once a week. It seems that after 3 years they tend to go
soft, develop convergence issues and become more difficult to keep in
calibration. Not all monitors are identical and sometimes we get more
life out of one than another, but they seem to average about 3-4 years
of use, running 10-16 hours a day, 5-7 days a week. The big wide screen
SONY tubes are the most difficult to keep in calibration (as are all
widescreen tubes).
